SEO Audit Services — A Technical and Content Audit Your Team Can Act On
Every page crawled, every problem explained in plain English, and a fix list ordered by what will move enquiries first, not a 90-page PDF of tool exports.
An SEO audit is a structured review of everything that stops a website ranking and converting: crawling and indexing, speed, page content, internal links, local signals and authority. Vimana Digital's paid audit covers all of it plus AI-search readiness, and delivers a prioritised, developer-ready fix list at a fixed price, typically within.

What the technical SEO audit covers
Crawling and indexing
Full crawl plus Search Console coverage data, so we see what Google indexed and what it skipped
Robots.txt, XML sitemaps, canonical tags, noindex rules and redirect chains
Orphan pages, duplicates created by filters and parameters, status codes and soft 404s
Speed and Core Web Vitals
Real-user Core Web Vitals against Google's "good" thresholds: Largest Contentful Paint at or under 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint at or under 200 milliseconds, Cumulative Layout Shift at or under 0.1, measured at the 75th percentile of visits (web.dev, Google)
Image formats, render-blocking scripts, hosting response time, caching, mobile layout and tap targets
On-page and content
One primary keyword per page, and where your pages compete with each other for the same term
Titles, meta descriptions, heading structure and whether each page answers its question in the first paragraph
Thin, outdated or near-duplicate pages: what to merge, improve or remove
Internal linking: which important pages are buried more than three clicks deep
Local and entity signals
Google Business Profile categories, services, hours and address consistency; LocalBusiness or Organization structured data; author and about pages
Authority and risk
Backlink quality, toxic links, lost links worth reclaiming; checks against Google's spam policies on doorway pages and scaled content (Google Search Central, updated 28 August 2026)
AI search readiness
Whether pages are structured so Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT can quote them: direct answers, question headings, visible author and sources
Which of your queries already trigger AI Overviews, and what that costs in clicks
Migration risk, if a redesign is planned: URL mapping and redirect review (see website migration SEO)

What most SEO audits miss in 2026
Automated tools score your site out of 100 and list 400 "errors", most of which don't matter. Four things we check that those reports don't:
4
Real-user speed, not lab scores
1Whether AI Overviews are eating your clicksWhen an AI Overview appears, the top organic result receives 58% fewer clicks than two years earlier (Ahrefs, 300,000 keywords, February 2026). An audit that only reports rankings can show you at #1 while traffic halves. We pull the queries triggering AI Overviews from Search Console and say which pages need rewriting to be the cited source.
2That no "AI schema" or llms.txt file is neededGoogle states there is no special structured data or file required for AI features, and that AI Overview clicks are counted under the "Web" search type in Search Console (Google Search Central, updated 10 December 2025). If a previous audit sold you an "AI optimisation" package built on those, it was padding.
3Whether your location pages are doorway pagesGoogle's spam policy (updated 28 August 2026) names pages "aimed at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page" as doorway abuse, and mass-produced pages "without adding value" as scaled content abuse. Templated town pages were standard agency practice for years; we flag which of yours are a liability.
4Real-user speed, not lab scoresCore Web Vitals are assessed on real visitor data at the 75th percentile (web.dev). A PageSpeed score of 95 on the developer's laptop means little if customers on 4G see a 4-second load. We report the field data.

What clients say about the diagnosis
Blinds 4 DecorA well-reviewed business whose previous site was struggling to rank, rebuilt with the aim of strengthening rankings and enquiries across the West Midlands.
PT54 Personal TrainingA broken theme 48 hours before launch; problems dissected on a Saturday morning, a working site with booking calendar live within three days.

A technical SEO audit checks everything that affects whether Google can crawl, index, render and rank your pages: robots and sitemaps, redirects, duplicate URLs, Core Web Vitals, mobile layout, structured data and internal links. Vimana's audit adds content, local signals, backlinks and AI-search readiness, with every finding paired with a fix.
How much does an SEO audit cost?
UK agencies typically charge £500–£1,200 for a small-site audit and £1,500–£4,000 for a comprehensive SME audit, rising to £5,000+ for enterprise sites (2026 agency guides).
How long does an SEO audit take?
Most audits are delivered within of receiving Search Console access. Larger ecommerce sites with thousands of URLs take longer because the crawl and manual review scale with page count. You'll get a date in the quote, and a walkthrough call is booked for delivery day.
Do I need an SEO audit before starting SEO?
Yes, in some form. Spending on content or links while a site has indexing errors, slow pages or competing URLs wastes money. Our free audit is enough for a simple brochure site; a paid audit pays for itself on sites with more than a few dozen pages or a history of agencies.
What is the difference between a free and a paid SEO audit?
A free SEO audit is a short expert look at your main pages that lists the biggest problems. A paid audit crawls every page, reviews templates by hand, benchmarks competitors and delivers a prioritised fix list your developer can work from. The free version diagnoses; the paid version prescribes.
Will you fix the problems the audit finds?
We can, but you don't have to use us. The audit is written so any competent developer can act on it, and it's yours to share. If you'd like us to implement, we quote separately or include the work in an SEO retainer. Our web team handles WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel and bespoke builds.
Do you audit ecommerce sites?
Yes. Ecommerce audits focus on faceted navigation creating duplicate URLs, product and category page structure, out-of-stock handling, structured data for products and reviews, and speed on image-heavy pages. See our ecommerce SEO service for what usually follows an audit of a WooCommerce or Shopify store.
Can an SEO audit help if my traffic dropped after a Google update?
Usually, yes. We compare Search Console data before and after the update date, identify which pages and queries lost visibility, and check them against Google's published spam policies and quality guidance. Most drops trace to thin or templated pages, technical regressions or AI Overviews now answering the query without a click.
