What website management covers

Our web design services don't stop at launch. Management is the ongoing part:

  1. Software updates

WordPress core, themes and plugins applied on a staging copy first where the site warrants it, then live. To confirm: update frequency, e.g. weekly/fortnightly

  2. Backups

Stored away from the website itself, so a server problem doesn't take the backups with it. To confirm: backup frequency and retention

  3. Security monitoring

Malware scanning, login hardening, firewall rules and a clean-up if anything gets through.

  4. Uptime monitoring

We're told your site is down before you are.

  5. Small content changes

New team member, updated prices, a seasonal banner, a new PDF. To confirm: monthly allowance of changes/time

  6. Email deliverability

SPF, DKIM and DMARC records set up so your website emails land in inboxes, not spam.

  7. Performance checks

Core Web Vitals re-tested after updates, because a plugin update can quietly slow a site.

  8. Forms, tracking and cookie banner

Kept working as browsers, Google and the ICO change the rules.

  9. A phone number that gets answered

    0115 647 0444, Mon–Fri 8:30am–6pm.

Web hosting from £120 a year, SSL included

Hosting is the server your website lives on. Ours starts from £120 a year, with the SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser) included rather than sold as an add-on.

  • Hosting is optional and separate from the build price. You can host with us or elsewhere.
  • Budget hosts often quadruple the renewal price after the first year (365i, 2026). Our price is the renewal price.
  • Sites we build and sites we didn't build are both welcome. We'll migrate an existing site across, including email where needed.
  • To confirm: server location, data centre, backup and uptime specifics for the hosting page

Why a finished website is never finished

  1. 11,334 new WordPress-ecosystem vulnerabilities were logged in 2025

Up 42% on 2024. 91% were in plugins, 17% were high severity, and 46% had no patch available when they were disclosed (Patchstack, February 2026). A site nobody updates is running last year's locks.

  2. Google's Core Web Vitals are "used by our ranking systems"

(Google Search Central, 2024). Sites drift: a new plugin, a heavy image, an expired caching rule, and a page that loaded in two seconds now takes four. That's why speed is re-checked as part of management, not once at launch.

  3. Cookie rules changed again in 2026

The ICO updated its storage-and-access guidance on 29 April 2026 after the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, adding new consent exceptions and objection requirements.Managed sites get their banners updated; unmanaged ones don't.

  4. Email is part of the website

Gmail and Yahoo now require proper authentication from bulk senders, and contact-form emails without SPF and DKIM records are the first to land in spam. One client came to us with website email problems that turned out to be an authentication issue (Rodney Atkinson, Google review).

  5. Problems never arrive on a convenient day

When a theme broke 48 hours before a launch, we met the client on a Saturday morning and had a new site live within three days (Paul Thompson, Google review).

Do you need website management?

You probably do if:

0of 6 sound like you

Tap any that sound like your site.

You probably don't if your site is a static one-pager with no forms, no logins and nothing to update. We'll say so rather than sell you a plan.

How much does website management cost per month in the UK?

UK agencies typically charge £75–£150 a month for a brochure site, £129–£250 for a WordPress business site and £250–£500 or more for ecommerce. Vimana Digital's website management starts from £50 a month, paid annually, covering updates, backups, security monitoring and small changes. Hosting is from £120 a year with SSL included.

What's the difference between web hosting and website management?

Hosting is the server space your website lives on; it keeps the site online. Website management is the ongoing work on the site itself: software updates, backups, security, speed checks and content changes. You can have hosting without management, but a WordPress site nobody maintains gets more exposed with every unpatched plugin.

Do I have to host my website with you to use management?

No. We manage sites on other hosts, provided we can get admin and hosting access. Keeping hosting and management with one team is simpler when something goes wrong, and our hosting starts from £120 a year, but it's your choice and it's not a condition.

Can you manage a website you didn't build?

Yes. We take on sites built by other agencies or freelancers, including sites whose developer has stopped replying. We start with an audit of the platform, plugins, security and backups, fix what's urgent, then move to the monthly cycle. Emma Harris Lingerie came to us after its previous developer became hard to reach.

What happens if my website gets hacked?

We restore from a clean backup, remove the malicious code, update everything, change passwords and keys, and find how it got in so it doesn't happen again. Managed sites are far less likely to reach that point, because the updates that close known vulnerabilities are applied promptly.

How quickly do you respond to problems?

We answer the phone Mon–Fri 8:30am–6pm on 0115 647 0444. One client described us on site within 59 minutes of first contact; another had a broken site rebuilt within three days against a launch deadline. We reply to every request within 24 hours.

Does website management include SEO?

No. Management keeps the site healthy, fast and secure, which protects the rankings you have. Growing rankings needs ongoing content and optimisation work, which is our separate SEO service from £400 a month for local campaigns. The two work well together, but we don't blur them in the price.

Will WordPress updates break my website?

They can, which is why they shouldn't be left to run automatically. Theme and plugin updates occasionally conflict with each other or with custom code. We test updates where the site warrants it, apply them with a fresh backup in place, and check forms, pages and speed afterwards so a problem is caught before your customers see it.

Can I cancel website management?

Yes. Management is a separate agreement from the build, and you own the website whether or not you keep us on. Contract length and notice period are . If you leave, you take the site, backups and all access with you.

Hand over the upkeep

Send us your website address and we'll reply within 24 hours, then send an honest audit summary and a fixed monthly price.
