The brief
An HVAC company with a website that didn't work on phones
Vimana Digital replaced Direct Cooling Systems' outdated website with a responsive WordPress site for the Nottingham HVAC company. We wrote all the content from scratch, combined it with an SEO strategy, and built a simple, uncluttered layout that presents each service clearly on phones, tablets and desktops. DCS supplied the imagery; we handled everything else.
Direct Cooling Systems' old website was outdated and not fully responsive, so it did not display properly on phones and tablets.
The brief was a contemporary, responsive website that is easy to navigate and highlights each HVAC service DCS provides. The company gave us complete creative freedom on design and development, and asked us to take charge of the entire copywriting process.
How we did it
How we did it
01
Content first
Before any design, we consolidate all the available content. For DCS that meant writing from scratch, so we built the copy and the SEO strategy together.
02
WordPress build
Once the essential materials were gathered, we built the site on WordPress.
03
Quality imagery
DCS supplied the photos. Poor visuals make a new website look unappealing, so we do not accept subpar images.
04
A simple layout
Clean navigation, each service visible and the DCS colours throughout.

How much does an HVAC company website cost?
A small trade website starts from around £1,000. A site like Direct Cooling Systems', with a page per service and copywriting by us, typically sits in the £3,000–£6,000 band. Hosting is from £120 a year with SSL included, and website management from £50 a month paid annually if you want us to keep it updated. Prices exclude VAT.
Can you write the content for a technical trade website?
Yes. We wrote every page for Direct Cooling Systems from scratch, alongside an SEO strategy. We take the time to understand your business and services first, then write content that explains them clearly and gives each page a better chance of being found in search.
Why does my trade website need to be responsive?
Because customers will judge you on whatever screen they use, and Google uses the mobile version of your site for indexing and ranking (Google Search Central, 2023). DCS's old site was not fully responsive, which is why it needed replacing. A responsive site adapts its layout to phones, tablets and desktops automatically.
How long does a trade website take to build?
Straightforward websites typically take one to three weeks once the content is agreed. When we write the content, as we did for DCS, allow time at the start for us to learn your services before the pages are drafted.
