Vimana Digital builds native iOS and Android apps for Nottingham businesses from The Long Eaton Hub: booking, ordering, loyalty, field-service and internal tools, with the backend and app-store submission handled by the same team. A first store-ready release usually lands in 8–16 weeks, and UK agencies quote roughly £10,000 for an MVP up to £25,000–£60,000 for a full production app.

Does your Nottingham business actually need an app?
Nottingham has 815 accommodation and food businesses, 1,650 in wholesale and retail and 660 in health and social work (ONS via Nomis, March 2026). Those sectors ask us about apps most, and they are also where a fast mobile website usually wins.
The test is repeat use. Average day-30 retention sits at roughly 5–6%, so most installs are abandoned inside four weeks (AppsFlyer data via Braze, 2024). An app earns its place when:
Customers come back weekly, not twice a year: a gym, a takeaway, a clinic with repeat appointments
You need push notifications, offline use, camera, location or in-hand payments
Staff need a tool in the field: job sheets, photos, signatures, stock checks
Two universities' worth of students are your audience
When it doesn't, we build the website. Ready Steady Drive, covering Nottingham and Derby, needed learners to pick a lesson, book and pay. A booking website did that for a fraction of an app's cost.

Regional rates are realLondon boutique studios bill £60–£140 an hour (Magora, 2026), and Riseup Labs puts London 15–25% above regional teams. We're a Long Eaton team you can visit.
Apple rejected 24.9% of submissions in 2024, about two-thirds for "Performance"crashes, placeholder content, inaccurate listings (Apple, 2025). Our pre-submission QA targets those reasons.

How much does it cost to build an app in Nottingham?
An MVP typically costs £10,000–£25,000 on 2026 UK agency figures. Add a backend and admin and a production app runs £25,000–£60,000; complex or regulated apps start around £80,000. Regional studios run 15–25% below London rates. We quote a fixed scope after discovery.
Should my Nottingham restaurant or salon have an app or a booking website?
Start with the website unless customers return weekly and you want push notifications or loyalty. A booking website costs a fraction of an app and works from any phone without a download. Ready Steady Drive took that route for lesson bookings. If the app case is real, we'll build it.
iPhone or Android first?
In the UK the two platforms are roughly 50/50, with iOS slightly ahead in most months (StatCounter, 2025–26) . Launch on one if your customers clearly favour it and you want to prove demand cheaply; build both natively if the app is central to the business and will run for years.
How long does it take to build an app?
Allow 8–16 weeks for a first store-ready release, covering discovery, design, six to ten weeks of native build, then testing and submission. The 2026 median for an MVP is around 12 weeks (Wavect). Decisions, store accounts and review time cause more delay than coding.
Who owns the app and the store accounts?
Your company does, through a written IP assignment: under UK law, paying an invoice doesn't move the copyright to you. At handover the source code, designs, Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, signing keys and cloud accounts are registered to your company, with documentation for any future developer. The assignment takes effect on final payment.
Can you take over an app built by another Nottingham developer?
Often, yes. We start by auditing the code and accounts: which SDK built it, whether it can still be submitted, what the crash reports show, and who controls the store accounts and signing keys. From that you get a ranked list of fixes and a quote. Many rescues are just updates to meet current SDK deadlines.
Can you meet in person to plan the app?
Yes. We're at The Long Eaton Hub, about 20 minutes from Nottingham city centre , and we'll come to your premises for discovery. Mapping user journeys on a whiteboard with the people who'll use the app is faster than video calls, and it's where most scope mistakes get caught.
Will the app work with our existing booking or accounting software?
Usually, yes. Most modern systems expose an API, and we've connected apps and sites to Stripe, booking tools, Xero and product databases. We check what your systems allow during discovery and price each integration as its own line, so you can see what it adds.
Start with a few lines
Describe what the app should do and who will use it. We'll come back with questions, then a written estimate covering cost and timeline.
